mindfulness for dancers

A main source of inspiration for my work comes from my life as a professional ballet dancer with Alonzo King LINES Ballet. I have written a book, Mindfulness for Dancers, bridging my life as a professional dancer and the coaching and healing work I currently do. Mindfulness for Dancers has been featured in Dance Teacher and Dance Magazine, alongside an article on visualization to help aid young dancers in the audition process. The syllabus that accompanies the book has been taught nationally and internationally. Writing the book was a way to give back to the dance world, addressing the importance of self care and personal empowerment through integrative holistic tools.

“The dance world is a rigorous environment that requires a strict focus at an early age. Drawing from her own experience as a professional dancer, Corinne Haas offers a counterbalance to the perfectionism, negative self-talk, and debilitating self-image all too often cultivated in the dance studio along technique. Haas knows firsthand how the beauty that resides in us can get lost in the constant push to be better. Mindfulness for Dancers focuses on mindfulness tools that can bridge the gap between the drive to be good at dance and the ability to love ourselves unconditionally.”

What People Are Saying

"Corinne has masterfully articulated ideas that are simple, yet hard to put into words. She offers a clear pathway for growth, connecting the dots between the work done in the studio and the essential work that each dancer must do on his/her own. This is the work that makes an artist truly radiant."

— Meredith Webster former Alonzo King LINES Ballet Master

"Exactly what I was needing and looking for! This is more than a book on mindfulness. The intro brings you right into the author's life as a dancer immediately making you feel safe and loved on your own journey as a dancer. The exercises are simple, yet powerful and easy to begin working with inside the studio and out. It has been helpful as a daily reminder of kindness toward myself. Love this book!”
